What is Diatomaceous Earth?


Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is the remains of microscopic single celled plants known as "Phytoplankton" called as diatoms. These plants/diatoms are found in the oceans and lakes and being mined from underwater beds or from ancient dried lake bottom over thousands of years old.




Is Diatomaceous Earth safe?


Yes! DEFG Malaysia only sells Diatomaceous Earth which is food graded and OMRI listed (Organic Materials Review Institute). Our Diatomaceous Earth is unheated, natural-milled amorphous silicon dioxide (non-crystalline) and is mined from fresh water deposit. This type of Diatomaceous Earth is also known as "anti-caking agent". We supply the finest grade of Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade that is extremely pure in terms of grade and quality. Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade is all natural, organic, non-hazardous and non-toxic mineral. Food graded Diatomaceous Earth is environmentally safe to humans, dogs, cats, chickens, cows and etc. IMPORTANT: In general, there are two types of Diatomaceous Earth; Food Grade and Pool Grade. Do not be mistaken with Diatomaceous Earth "POOL GRADE". Misuse of Non-Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth can be potentially harmful.




What type of Diatomaceous Earth are you selling?

The only Diatomaceous Earth that we recommend is Food Grade that meets the Food Chemical Codex Rating criteria. IMPORTANT: In general, there are two types of Diatomaceous Earth; Food Grade and Pool Grade. Do not be mistaken with Diatomaceous Earth "POOL GRADE". Does Diatomaceous Earth have an expiry date?


Diatomaceous Earth has an unlimited shelf life as long as you keep it in a dry, cool place.




What are the potential risks?


Diatomaceous Earth is environmentally safe to human and pets however, we do recommend you to wear a mask and gloves during the application process. Diatomaceous Earth may cause eyes, skin and respiratory irritation.

Potential Risks Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Wear a mask to prevent from excessive breath in of Diatomaceous Earth that may cause breathing difficulty.
Skin: Exposure to Diatomaceous Earth on your skin can cause dryness. Wash off with water, wear a glove to prevent skin from dryness. Eyes: Flush with water. Wear a safety goggles if it irritates your eyes. ​​ Warning: If irritation persists, please consult a doctor immediately.




What is Diatomaceous Earth used for?

What is the color of Diatomaceous Earth?


It is recommended to check the color of your Diatomaceous Earth to identify what type of Diatomaceous Earth you have. However, it is not an absolute test. Food Grade quality of Diatomaceous Earth is a white or off-white colored. Avoid using grey, brown, orange, yellow or pink colored Diatomaceous Earth. Besides looking at the color, it is important to the read the product label.




Are there any different grades of Diatomaceous Earth?


In general, there are two types of Diatomaceous Earth:

  • Food Grade
  • Pool Grade
Do not be mistaken with Diatomaceous Earth "POOL GRADE". Misuse of Non-Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth can be potentially harmful.

Diatomaceous Earth with label or description use for pool filter or water filter should only be used for pool or water filter. It should not be used for any other purposes.




Can I mix Diatomaceous Earth with water?


Diatomaceous Earth is less effective when it is wet or in moist/humid areas hence, to ensure the optimal result, we encourage to apply Diatomaceous Earth in dry form or after rain. Therefore, it is best not to mix the Diatomaceous Earth with water as by using dry application, it will work much more effectively than wet application.

Your order will be taken to have been accepted by us unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order.

Non-acceptance of your orders may be due to any one or more of the following non-exhaustive reasons:
• A product you ordered is out of stock.
• We are unable to obtain authorization for your payments.
• We have identified error information.
• There is a system or procurement failure.
• You failed to confirm your order with us. Please ensure that you provide us the complete and accurate information including your delivery address, email, contact number and name of recipient. Should you have any issue placing an order, kindly email us at defg.malaysia@gmail.com




Do you ship your product internationally?


Yes, we do ship internationally. International shipping charges are vary depending on the country and weight of your order. Please note that all international orders may be subject to taxes and duties, and additional charges for customs clearance. It may vary depending on the country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information. For international order, kindly email us at defg.malaysia@gmail.com




Can I modify or cancel my order(s)?


If you have noticed an error in your order after placing your order, please email us at defg.malaysia@gmail.com If you wish to cancel the order before payment, kindly acknowledge us by sending us an email with your order details. However, no cancellation is allowed once payment has been made.

Can I request for refund/return/exchange for my purchase?


All products sold are strictly non-refundable, non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

Products are subject to availability. Once a product has sold out it will be stated out of stock as there may be a delay between the time when your order is placed, and the time when the order and payment is accepted. However, we will always notify you as soon as possible and you will not be charged for the out of stock product.

We will refund to you the original purchase price for your order, provided that if:
• We are unable to provide you the product(s).

Do you have a brick and mortar shop?


No, we are fully operate online and we do not have any brick and mortar shop to visit. Please purchase via our website.

PAYMENT

What are the payment methods available?


We accept payment through:
• Cash Deposit (ATM/Counter)
• Online Banking (Funds Transfer, IBG/GIRO)
To expedite your order, kindly email us the proof of payment slip. Please fill in the recipient reference section with your order number as per order placed for us to confirm your payment easier and faster. Please retain your proof of payment slip/receipt. Full payment is required before orders will be shipped.

*No refund for additional balance, kindly pay the exact amount.
Please note that refund is not allowed once payment has been made. Product(s) that has been dispatched or delivered are not returnable and exchangeable.





DELIVERY AND SHIPPING

When will I receive my purchase?


Shipping Info All orders will be processed for shipment by Pos Laju Malaysia on Monday to Friday (working days), excluding weekends and public holidays.

  • All orders will be processed for shipment on the next working day after payment is confirmed.
  • We ship all orders within the time agreed unless otherwise noted.
  • We are not responsible for any loss or damage during shipment.
  • Tracking numbers will be provided within 24 hours after your order has been shipped/picked up.
Under normal circumstances, kindly allow within an estimate of 1-3 working days for delivery area to West Malaysia and 3-5 working days for delivery area to East Malaysia (excluding weekends and public holiday). However, in the case of peak and busy periods, courier issues (such as operations etc) or weather conditions, the delivery of your order and shipment might be slightly delayed. Please note that these are estimated delivery times only, therefore we do not guarantee delivery dates.
Kindly be noted, someone has to be at the correspondent address to receive the parcel delivered by Pos Laju Malaysia. Please note that should there be any delivery failure, the recipient will have to contact Pos Malaysia at 1300-300-300 to make an arrangement to request for a second delivery or collect the parcel at the respective branch.

Rejected/Unsuccessful Delivery

All unclaimed rejected and unsuccessful deliveries will be returned to us. If you'd like us to resend your parcel, a new shipping fee will be applied. Any uncollected parcels after 30 days will be treated as forfeited, strictly non-refundable and non-returnable.




How can I track my parcel status?


All parcel(s) will be shipped by PosLaju Malaysia.
You can track and trace your parcel(s) HERE with the tracking number provided. *Pos Laju systems may not be updated in real time or may be unavailable or down sometimes, and you may check back again from time to time. Kindly allow at least one (1) working day after your order is shipped/picked up for the tracking information to appear online. If the tracking information does not update, and the expected delivery date has passed, please email us at defg.malaysia@gmail.com




Can I self-collect my order?


We regret to inform that we no longer provide self-collection. Please purchase via our website or click HERE. Our price includes shipping within Malaysia.
